§ 7-13. Perpetual care.

  • All sums of money which have been or may be paid into the city treasury for the perpetual care and preservation of burial spaces, monuments, mausoleums, headstones, markers, urns or other property used in connection therewith, shall constitute a trust fund which may be used by the city council as provided in serial section 174 of the Charter, and subject to any rules or regulations of the city council pertaining thereto. The city council shall supervise the investment of such funds as are now on hand or may be received, and cause the interest thereon to be applied for the purpose for which it is intended. All such funds until otherwise used in accordance with the provisions of this chapter or serial section 174 of the Charter, shall be kept by the city treasurer in a duly authorized depository, separate from other city funds.
