§ 4-6. Public hazard.

  • After evidence has been presented to the director of police and fire services, which gives the director of police and fire services reasonable suspicion that an animal bit a person or other animal, the animal that is believed to have bitten a person or other animal may be declared a public health hazard by the director of police and fire services. Once an animal has been declared a public health hazard by the director of police and fire services, the director of police and fire services may require that the animal be removed from the community, quarantined or confined in a manner specified by the director of police and fire services.
