§ 17-52. Smoke measurement.

  • For the purpose of defining the term "dense smoke" which shall constitute a prohibited density under this article, the standards established by the "Ringlemann Smoke Chart," 1955 Edition, are hereby adopted, as published by the Department of Interior Bureau of Mines (IC 7718) with its accompanying publication written by Ralph Rudolph Kudlich and revised by L. R. Durdick, as published by Bureau of Mines, Publication—Distribution Section, in accordance with Department of Interior Public Notice Number 84932. Smoke of a density equal to or greater than the density described as number two (2) on the Ringlemann Smoke Chart, shall be considered and held to be "dense smoke" as the term is used in this article.
