No vehicle, cart, or pushcart shall be licensed in accordance with this article unless
and until the owner thereof files with the city clerk proof of the existence of a
policy of insurance issued by a company licensed to do business in the state, which
policy insures the ability of the applicant for the license to respond to damages
for any liability thereafter incurred resulting from the ownership, maintenance, use
or operation of such vehicle, cart or pushcart licensed to the applicant, for personal
injury or death of any one (1) person in the minimum amount of three hundred thousand
dollars ($300,000.00) bodily injury protection per incident and one hundred thousand
dollars ($100,000.00) property damage protection per incident with a product liability
rider in the minimum amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) per incident,
such certificate to list the city as an additional insured.
