§ 11-10. Establishment of districts.

(a)

All lands within the city, which are subject to the base flood, as defined in this chapter, are hereby designated the floodplain district. The boundaries of this district are shown on the official floodplain zoning map.

(b)

The floodplain areas within the jurisdiction of this chapter are hereby divided into two (2) districts, floodway districts and floodway fringe districts. The floodway district is all that area which is necessary to carry the waters of the base flood without increasing the water surface elevation of that flood more than one (1) foot at any point. The floodway fringe district is all that area within the floodplain district less the floodway district. The boundaries of these districts are as shown on the official floodplain zoning map. Within these districts all uses not allowed as permitted uses or permissible as conditional uses shall be prohibited.
